- Account information — such as your name, email address, and password when you create an account.
- Content you submit — ratings, reviews, and other feedback you contribute about businesses.
- Spending entries — information you choose to log in the Spend & Impact Tracker, and activity recorded in your Rewards Points ledger.
- Communications — messages you send us for support or other requests.
Information collected automatically
- Location data — with your permission, we collect your device's precise or approximate location to show Black-owned businesses near you, provide directions, and surface local deals and events. You can turn location access on or off at any time in your device settings.
- Device and usage data — such as device type, operating system, app version, and how you interact with features, used to operate and improve the App.
- Identifiers — such as a device or installation identifier used for app functionality and analytics.
About location. Black Dollar uses location to power its core purpose — finding businesses near you. We do not sell your location data. If you decline location access, you can still browse the directory by searching manually.
02 — How we use your information
- Show you Black-owned businesses, ratings, deals, and events relevant to your area.
- Provide directions and map features.
- Maintain your account, Spend & Impact Tracker, and Rewards Points.
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the App.
- Respond to your requests and send you service-related communications.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
03 — How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers — companies that host and operate the App and provide analytics, on our behalf and under confidentiality obligations.
- Payment processing — if you make a payment through the App, it is handled by a third-party payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
- Public content — ratings and reviews you submit may be visible to other users as part of the community directory.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or Black Dollar.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, consistent with this policy.
04 — Third-party services
The App relies on third-party platforms for hosting, analytics, mapping, and payment processing. These providers process data under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review the policies of any service you interact with through the App.
05 — Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
07 — Your choices and rights
- Location — enable or disable location access in your device settings at any time.
- Access and deletion — you may request a copy of your personal information or ask us to delete your account and associated data by contacting us below.
- Communications — you can opt out of non-essential communications.
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. 08 — Children's privacy
Black Dollar is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
09 — Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the App. Your continued use of Black Dollar after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
